First Time for Spinning

Hi readers!

It's a long time not to update my blog. am I busy? hmmm.. nope. Just feel so lazy to write in english. Well, I'm Indonesian, in this blog I just learn writing in english.

So, I wanna share my latest job. Spinning

I got influenced spinning from my knitter friend - also - spinner. She is Rina Rahardjo (Sorry aunty, I mentioned you on my blog :p). She has more gorgeous photos of her works. Ohh my gosh! I really want to spinning. Thanks aunty Rina for inspiring and teaching me.

I started to buy a spinning kit from Silversunalpacas Etsy shop, I got a top whorl spindle and 1.5 oz Alpaca fiber.

My frst spinning project

My finished 1.5 oz Alpaca fiber

I need more  practice to get a good consistency. I'm not plying this because of the lenght. So, I just go with single. I don't have niddy-noddy to measure the length of my yarn and make a skein, I use a chair to wrap my yarn into a beautiful skein. Before it, I have to set the twist. I soak my yarn with hot water for a few minutes, and rinse with cold water and wrap into towel, hang it dry.

And then....

Approx. 95 meters length

I got my beautiful handspun yarn!

Will I knit this a beautiful baby? -not sure-
In fact, I don't want to tamper with this yarn cause it's my first, but I'm so curious to knit with. -dilemma-

A beginner spinner usually spin too hard, so the yarn a little bit stiff. I really enjoyed spinning now. Now I'm waiting other fiber from another etsy shop! can't wait!

See you on nex post
